MTN Fibre is MTN Ghana’s unlimited home internet over a fibre line. After a major price cut in June 2026, the unlimited plans are GH¢299 a month for 100 Mbps, GH¢444 for 300 Mbps and GH¢999 for 500 Mbps, with longer subscriptions costing less. Here is what you need to know to choose a plan and get connected.

Prices and coverage change over time. Treat the figures below as a guide and confirm the latest details on MTN Ghana’s official channels before you sign up.

How much does MTN Fibre cost now?

MTN cut its fibre prices sharply in 2026. The 100 Mbps plan dropped from around GH¢987 to GH¢299 a month. The current unlimited plans are:

Plan Monthly price Best for
100 Mbps GH¢299 Browsing, social media, HD streaming, small households
300 Mbps GH¢444 4K streaming, working from home, several devices at once
500 Mbps GH¢999 Heavy use, online gaming, large households, big downloads

All three are unlimited, so the price is per month with no data cap.

Do longer subscriptions save money?

Yes. Paying for a longer period up front earns a discount: reportedly 5% for quarterly, 7% for semi-annual and 10% for annual subscriptions. If you are confident you will stay on fibre, an annual plan is the cheapest way to pay.

Which MTN Fibre plan should I choose?

Pick based on how many people and devices share the connection:

  • 100 Mbps (GH¢299). Plenty for one or two people: browsing, social media, music, and HD video on a few devices.
  • 300 Mbps (GH¢444). The sweet spot for a busy home: 4K streaming, video calls, working or studying from home, and several devices at once.
  • 500 Mbps (GH¢999). For heavy households: lag-free gaming, large downloads, and many simultaneous 4K streams.

Because the plans are unlimited, you are really choosing speed, not an allowance. When in doubt, start lower, since you can usually upgrade later.

How do I sign up for MTN Fibre?

There is no data bundle to buy here. Fibre is a fixed line installed at your home. In general:

  1. Check coverage. Confirm fibre is available at your exact address.
  2. Apply through MTN, using its website or app, an MTN shop, or customer service.
  3. Book installation. If you are covered, MTN schedules a professional installation and provides the router.
  4. Pay and connect. Choose a plan, either monthly or a discounted longer term, and get online.

MTN has described installation as professional and hassle-free with flexible payment options. Exact one-off costs can vary, so ask when you apply.

Is MTN Fibre available in my area?

Not everywhere yet. MTN’s home fibre rollout began in major urban centres such as Accra and Kumasi and is expanding to other regions in phases, including works across the Western Region through 2026. Availability comes down to whether fibre has reached your specific street, so the only reliable answer is to check your address with MTN before ordering.

MTN Fibre vs mobile data: which should you use?

They solve different problems:

  • MTN Fibre is best for the home, with unlimited data, fast speeds, and many devices. It is ideal if you stream, work from home, or share the connection with a household.
  • Mobile data bundles are best for your phone on the go, for lighter users, and as a stopgap when fibre is not live in your area yet or while you wait for installation.

In practice most people use both: fibre at home, and a mobile bundle for their phone when they are out. If you need data on any network today, whether MTN, Telecel or AirtelTigo, you can buy a bundle and have it delivered to any Ghana number within hours while your fibre is being sorted.

Frequently asked questions

How much does MTN Fibre cost per month in Ghana?

As of the June 2026 price cut, MTN Fibre's unlimited plans are GH¢299 a month for 100 Mbps, GH¢444 a month for 300 Mbps and GH¢999 a month for 500 Mbps. Longer subscriptions are discounted. Always confirm current pricing with MTN before signing up.

Is MTN Fibre unlimited?

Yes. All three MTN Fibre home plans come with unlimited data, so there is no monthly cap. The plan you pick sets your speed (100, 300 or 500 Mbps), not a data allowance.

How do I sign up for MTN Fibre?

Check whether fibre is available at your address, then apply through MTN (its website or app, an MTN shop, or customer service). If your area is covered, MTN schedules a professional installation and provides the router.

Is MTN Fibre available everywhere in Ghana?

Not yet. The rollout started in urban centres like Accra and Kumasi and is expanding to other regions in phases, so availability depends on your exact location. Confirm coverage with MTN before ordering.

Do I still need mobile data if I have MTN Fibre?

Fibre only works at home, so you still need mobile data for your phone when you are out. Mobile bundles are also a useful stopgap if fibre is not live in your area yet.
